Hawaii state laws stipulate that a person may not act as a real estate salesperson, broker, or instructor without first obtaining a license issued by the Hawaii Real Estate Commission. To be licensed, you must pass an examination to confirm that you have attained at least a minimum level of knowledge regarding the principles, practices, statutes, and regulations relating to real estate. The Hawaii Real Estate Commission has contracted with PSI Services LLC (PSI) to conduct the examination testing.

PSI provides examinations through a network of computer examination centers in Hawaii as well as various locations across the U.S.
